چکیده

We investigated trends in open vs endovascular lower extremity revascularization case volumes among graduating vascular fellows (5+2) and integrated residents (0+5) to determine the impact of adoption endovascular-first therapies on trainees’ experience with bypass. reviewed Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education 2012-2021 log data surgery (0+5). retrieved mean number femoropopliteal infrapopliteal procedures carried out by each group, both endovascular. The means were plotted against time. A Mann-Kendall test was conducted detect average cases performed graduates. Between 2012 2021, graduated an 21.9 22.5 bypasses, surpassing 4.4 ± 1.4 3.0 1.9, respectively. For trainee groups, procedures—femoropopliteal or infrapopliteal—was consistent over course years no statistically significant trend observed (Figure). Integrated 47.9 22.7 procedures, 6.2 2.9 3.1 1.7, a increase this time period –in groups. increased 105.5% (31.1 63.9; P < .001) 110.3% (26.2 55.1; fellows. 120.3% (14.3 31.5; 94.1% (13.6 26.4; overall volume combining techniques, groups mainly due peripheral intervention volume. total has all trainees but graduates residency programs have more robust experience. Despite rise volume, bypass remained stable.
